Painters in Tulsa, OK, from Maple Ridge plaster to south Tulsa brick
Tulsa splits cleanly at about 1960. North of that line are the oil-boom neighborhoods with wood siding, plaster, and a century of paint. South of it is brick with wood trim from the 1970s on. Danco paints both, and preps each the way its era demands.

Midtown and the older neighborhoods
Maple Ridge went up between 1913 and 1932 on oil money: Tudor, Colonial Revival, and Arts and Crafts homes, around 700 of them. Swan Lake, Florence Park, Renaissance, and Riverview filled in through the 1920s and 1930s with brick and wood bungalows. Kendall-Whittier, platted in 1906, is a streetcar suburb along old Route 66. Brady Heights was Tulsa's first National Register district. These houses have wood siding and trim, original wood windows, plaster walls, and in many cases paint older than 1978.
Painting them well means slowing down. Lead-safe prep on old exterior paint. Plaster cracks repaired as plaster, not skimmed over with drywall compound that will pop back out. Breathable primers on old wood so moisture can escape. Brushwork on trim and porch columns. And a frank conversation when a window sill is past saving and needs new wood before any paint. This is work Danco enjoys, and it is the kind of house that shows the difference between a painter and a sprayer.
Ranch Acres, Lortondale, and the mid-century belt
Between the old districts and south Tulsa sits a band of post-war housing. Ranch Acres, built 1949 to 1962 along Harvard between 31st and 41st, is 324 brick ranches on the National Register. Lortondale is 220 mid-century moderns from 1954 to 1957 with low roofs and walls of glass. Brookside mixes original mid-century with new infill. The brick on these houses is fine; the work is wood fascia, soffits, trim, and front doors, plus the first generation of drywall inside, which has had seventy years to crack at the corners.
South Tulsa and the newer subdivisions
Most of the southern half of the city has been built since the 1970s, with development still spreading south and east. Brick veneer with wood or fiber cement trim, vinyl soffits, two-story elevations that need ladders and lifts, and HOA color rules in many subdivisions. The common jobs here are trim and garage door repaints as builder-grade paint gives out, whole-interior repaints before a sale, honey oak kitchens from the 1980s and 1990s, and epoxy for garages that face west.
Tulsa weather, specifically
Tulsa averages nearly eleven days a year over 100 degrees, and a dew point that runs higher than many coastal cities, which is why the north side of every house grows mildew. Hail hits any given spot in the city two or three times a year, peaking from mid-April to mid-May, and often hammers one neighborhood while missing the next. The Father's Day storm in June 2023 put straight-line winds near 100 miles an hour through town and left debris on half the roofs in Midtown. The December 2007 ice storm took down a generation of old trees.
All of that is baked into how Danco schedules and preps exterior work: wash, 24 to 48 hour dry-out, scrape, rot repair, caulk, prime, two coats, with the radar open in spring. See exterior painting for the sequence and pressure washing for getting the mildew and clay off first.

Questions from Tulsa homeowners
Yes, and carefully. Lead-safe prep on pre-1978 paint, plaster repaired as plaster, breathable primer on old wood, and brushwork on trim and columns. Tell Danco the age of the house when you call.
Soon, before the next rain finds the chips. Danco will walk the house, photograph damage for your records, and tell you whether it is a touch-up, a repaint, or a siding conversation. If a storm caused it, the photos help with your adjuster.
Yes. Danco pulls the approved color palette or request form before the estimate, lists the colors on the written scope, and brushes out samples on the real trim.
