Painters in OKC for bungalows, brick ranches, and new builds alike
Oklahoma City is three different painting jobs depending on the decade the house was built. Danco works all three, from plaster-walled Craftsman homes in Mesta Park to 1960s ranches in The Village to post-2000 subdivisions up by Deer Creek.

Three eras of Oklahoma City houses
The historic districts. Heritage Hills, Mesta Park, Crown Heights, Edgemere Park, Putnam Heights, Paseo, Gatewood, and Nichols Hills were built between about 1902 and the 1930s: Craftsman bungalows, Tudor and Colonial Revivals, Spanish and Art Deco. Wood siding and trim, plaster walls, original windows, and many layers of paint, some of it older than 1978. These houses reward careful prep and punish shortcuts. Lead-safe practices, plaster repair rather than drywall patching, breathable coatings on old wood, and a lot of brushwork instead of spray.
The brick ranch belt. The Village, Quail Creek, Lakehurst, Windsor Hills, and most of the northwest and south side went up from the late 1940s through the 1970s. Brick bodies, wood fascia and soffits, single-pane windows with wood trim, and interiors with the first generation of drywall. This is the biggest share of Danco's OKC work: trim and soffit repaints, rot repair at the fascia, interior repaints before a sale or after a move-in, and honey oak kitchens from the 1980s remodel wave.
Post-2000 subdivisions. Deer Creek, the Lake Hefner corridor, far northwest and southwest OKC. Brick with fiber cement and vinyl accents, builder-grade paint on trim and garage doors that is now hitting first-repaint age, and HOA color rules in many of them.
Why OKC walls crack, and what to do about it
Oklahoma City sits on a thick layer of expansive clay. It swells when the ground is wet and shrinks hard in drought, and the house rides along. The first place that shows is inside: hairline cracks running from door and window corners, ceiling seams opening, nail pops in the hallway. Outside it shows as stair-step cracks in brick mortar. After a dry summer, half the houses in town have a new crack somewhere.
Most of it is cosmetic and is repaired properly as part of interior painting or drywall repair: the crack is opened, taped or filled with a flexible compound, textured to match, and primed so it does not telegraph through the new paint by spring. When the pattern looks like more than seasonal movement, wide cracks, sticking doors, sloping floors, Danco says so before quoting paint, because painting over a foundation problem helps nobody.
The rest of the OKC weather list
Ten or so days a year over 100 degrees, a July dew point that keeps north walls damp, 70-plus freezing days a winter that mostly thaw by afternoon, spring hail, and some of the highest average wind of any large city in the country. Exterior paint here needs a real wash, a real dry-out, primer on bare wood, and two coats, applied on the shaded side of the house in the afternoon. That is the only way the south and west elevations keep up with the north side.
See exterior painting for the full prep sequence and pressure washing for the red clay that climbs the bottom two feet of every brick wall in the metro.
House painting, commercial, and everything between in OKC
Interior and exterior house painting across the metro, cabinet painting for the oak kitchens in the ranch belt, siding installation after hail, epoxy flooring for garages, and commercial painting for offices, churches, and rental turnovers for landlords and property managers. Danco is based in Bristow, about an hour east on the turnpike, and is in Oklahoma City most weeks. Painting contractors who cover both OKC and Tulsa are rare; Danco is one of them, which matters if you own property in both.

Questions from Oklahoma City homeowners
Yes. Pre-1978 paint gets lead-safe prep, plaster gets repaired as plaster, old wood gets a breathable coating, and the trim gets brushed, not just sprayed. Tell Danco the age of the house when you call so the estimate reflects it.
Usually not. Expansive clay moves every house in the metro a little each season, and hairline cracks at door corners and ceiling seams are the result. Those get repaired so they stay gone. Cracks wider than a nickel is thick, stair-step cracks in brick, sticking doors, or sloping floors are a foundation conversation first, and Danco will tell you if that is what the inspection shows.
Yes. Offices, retail, churches, medical suites, and unit turnovers for landlords and property managers, with a written scope and work scheduled around the people in the building.
